Ongoing extensive cooperation and collaboration between EU NAVFOR and the Royal Navy of Oman on a tactical level ensures understanding of maritime security around the Horn of Africa.
EU NAVFOR’s ESPS Meteoro has visited Muscat as part of a series of visits to the Sultanate of Oman. The Executive and Operations Officer of the Omani Patrol boat Al Najah boarded ESPS Meteoro to discuss detailed manoeuvres, which took place between the two warships the following day. This led to a clear understanding between EU NAVFOR and the Royal Navy of Oman.
The Commanding Officer of ESPS Meteoro said of this most recent collaboration: “This interaction at sea was a fantastic opportunity to enhance the already strong relationship and mutual understanding between the EU NAVFOR and Royal Navy of Oman, and a way to strengthen partnership in promoting peace and maritime stability”.
EU NAVFOR is committed to enhancing maritime capabilities and collaborating closely with partner nations to ensure vulnerable shipping heading to and from Europe transit safely in this high-risk area off the Coast of Somalia.
