Commander of the Italian Joint Operational Headquarters visited the EU NAVFOR ship ITS LIBECCIO
November 28, 2010 - 10:03On 26 November, General Giorgio Cornacchione, Commander of the Italian Joint Operational Headquarters, accompanied by Admiral Giuseppe De Giorgi, Chief of Staff of the Italian fleet, made a visit onboard ITS LIBECCIO.
During the time spent on board, General Cornacchione was presented main areas of the warship and met with many crewmembers.
The Commander of the Italian Joint Operational Headquarters underlined the difficulty of the mission against the terrorist phenomenon known as piracy and expressed his personal satisfaction for the excellent work of the warship in Operation ATALANTA, under the flag of the European Union.
