EU Naval Force Warship ESPS Infanta Cristina Carries out Replenishment at Sea with Supply Ship USNS LaramieMarch 16, 2015 - 13:21
On Sunday 8 March EU Naval Force warship, ESPS Infanta Cristina, conducted a Replenishment at Sea (RAS) with United States Navy Supply Ship, USNS Laramie.
Once at the rendezvous point at sea, ESPS Infanta Cristina took up her position on the port side of USNS Laramie in order to start what is a routine, but highly specialised manoeuvre.
When both refuelling crews were ready, USNS Laramie passed large hoses between the two ships and 80 metric tonnes of fuel were pumped across to ESPS Infanta Cristina.
When the replenishment was completed, ESPS Infanta Cristina resumed her counter-piracy patrols into the Internationally Recommended Transit Corridor (IRTC).
