EU Naval Force Warship ESPS Rayo Conducts Maritime Training with the Malagasy NavyApril 9, 2015 - 12:01
On Thursday 26 March, EU Naval Force warship ESPS Rayo conducted maritime training with the Malagasy Navy during her port visit to Antsiranana.
Following a short tour of the ship, the Malagasy Navy trainees were briefed on navigation procedures in shallow waters and on the Electronic Chart Display (ECDIS) systems on board. After the briefing, the Malagasy Navy trainees conducted a series of exercises to put into practice what they’ve learnt.
Before they departed the warship, the Malagasy Navy trainees were invited to join ESPS Rayo sailors for refreshments.
Activities such as this enhance the mutual trust and understanding between the EU and regional maritime forces.
