EU Naval Force Warships ESPS Méndez Núñez And HNLMS De Ruyter Meet At Sea
April 2, 2013 - 11:22Whilst departing from the port of Salalah, Oman, after a brief logistic stop, the EU’s counter-piracy flagship, ESPS Méndez Núñez enjoyed a brief rendezvous with fellow EU Naval Force warship HNLMS De Ruyter, who was about to enter the Omani port.
ESPS Méndez Núñez did a ‘pass-by’ on the port side of the Dutch warship, which was waiting for the port pilot in order to proceed in to the port of Salalah. Rear Admiral García de Paredes, who is the Force Commander of Operation Atalanta, along with the Commanding Officer of ESPS Méndez Núñez and the ship’s company took advantage of this opportunity to wave goodbye to HNLMS De Ruyter, as the Spanish warship is in her final week on patrol with Operation Atalanta.
