EU NAVFOR Countering Piracy off the coast of Somalia
November 2, 2017 - 08:29As the beginning of November comes, the European Union Naval Force continues to repress piracy off the coast of Somalia.
The Italian, Spanish and Dutch warships have been present, throughout the area of operations, deterring acts of Piracy and helping local maritime communities develop their livelihoods. They have also assisted with medical aid to the victims of recent bomb attacks in Mogadishu.
The ITS Fasan, ESPS Rayo, HNLMS Rotterdam and Maritime Patrol Aircraft from Spain and Germany work together night and day responding to incidents and maintaining a presence during this inter-monsoon period to suppress acts of piracy in this strategic economic maritime corridor.
