EU NAVFOR escorts MSC MELODY to safe waters
April 30, 2009 - 15:11Following the attempted attack last Saturday of the cruise liner MSC MELODY the EU NAVFOR Spanish warship SPS MARCHES DE LA ENSENADA sailed in company with her providing reassurance and protection for all those inboard until the liner was safety clear of the area yesterday.
The operators of the vessel MSC CRUISETECH kindly forwarded a message of thanks to EU NAVFOR and all the parties involved for “offering swift, coordinated and effective actions to afford protection and safety to the 1500 passengers and crew aboard our ship, MSC MELODY”,
In other news the trails of the first 9 suspected pirates captured by the EU NAVFOR warship RHEINLAND-PFALZ earlier this year commenced in Mombasa this week.
