EU NAVFOR Force Commander Meets With Chinese Military Attaché In Djibouti
April 28, 2014 - 08:45During a port visit to Djibouti, Rear Admiral Jürgen zur Mühlen, met with the Chinese Military Attaché to Djibouti, Ji Mingzhou, on board the EU Naval Force flagship FGS Brandenburg.
During the meeting they discussed the key issues related to counter piracy off the Horn of Africa and the successful tactical cooperation between the EU Naval Force and the Chinese Task Group in the area.
Both underlined the importance of naval forces working together in the fight against piracy and expressed their willingness to continue this. Possible areas for cooperation were identified, such as a second counter piracy exercise and support to the protection of World food Programme vessels in the piracy High Risk Area.
