The legal finish is a crucial aspect of Operation Atalanta objectives.”
The Force Commander also visited the Montagne Posée Prison to get an overview of the capabilities of the impressive detention facility, where around 40 convicted Somali Pirates are currently being detained.
After visiting the prison and speaking to some of the inmates who were engaged in wood and leather work training, Rear Admiral Bléjean expressed his admiration for the work of the prison to Raymond Saint-Ange:
“The motivation and commitment you and your team show here, not just for the detainees’ security but also for their welfare, is just outstanding.
