EU NAVFOR MEETS KEY LEADERS IN MOGADISHU
September 11, 2018 - 11:54To run a coherent operation, we must maintain lines of communications from all areas. This includes Somali government, EU sister and UN missions, as well as diplomatic and military representatives in the city of Mogadishu. On 9 September 2018, Rear Admiral Alfonso Perez De Nanclares met officials in Mogadishu to discuss prominent issues in the country relating to maritime security.
Rear Admiral Nanclares then hosted them at a reception on board ESPS Castilla. The aim of these meetings is to enhance existing relationships with EU sister missions, such as EUTM and EU CAP Somalia, as well as other regional actors to maintain a positive influence and further develop each other’s capabilities. By communicating effectively, we can adapt and improve our mission to encourage and maintain maritime security off the Horn of Africa.
