EU NAVFOR SUPPORT TO CTF-151 WARSHIP
February 22, 2018 - 13:56An EU NAVFOR Warship has provided vital supplies to a Warship of Combined Task Force (CTF) 151 off the coast of Somalia.
EU NAVFOR’s Spanish Warship ESPS Patiño provided the Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Saif with fuel and water during a Replenishment at Sea (RAS). ESPS Patiño and PNS Saif have been operating around the Horn of Africa as part of EU NAVFOR’s Operation Atalanta mandate to deter, repress and suppress piracy in order to allow the free flow of maritime trade.
Warships of EU NAVFOR and the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) regularly work together and support each, as seen at the start of February with the counter-piracy operation Hamad which took place in the Gulf of Aden. this cooperation between international partners is helping to stabilise and develop capacity to the region.
