Hijacking of MV NAVIOS APOLLON

In the evening of 28 December, the Panama Flag (Greek owned) Bulk Carrier, the MV NAVIOS APOLLON, was hijacked approximately 200 nautical miles East of the Seychelles.
The NAVIOS APOLLON (Deadweight 52,073 tonnes) has a crew of 19 (1 Greek and 18 Philippine) was destined for Thailand when hijacked.
The ship, which is being monitored by EU NAVFOR aircraft, has been located approximately 180 miles to the north of the Seychelles and heading towards the Somali coast.
