After completing four months of counter-piracy patrols with Operation Atalanta, Spanish warship, ESPS Infanta Cristina, is on her way home to her homeport of Cartagena in Spain. The Spanish warship was employed in a wide variety of missions during her deployment off the coast of Somalia.
As well as counter-piracy patrols, the Spanish navy ship also protected World Food Programme vessels delivering food aid to the Somali people, met local fishermen and provided maritime training to regional states as part of the EU Comprehensive Approach.
She is expected to reach home on 20th July 2015.
