ITS Fasan Visits Djibouti to Train Coast Guard and Navy
October 10, 2017 - 16:21Earlier this month, ITS Fasan and her crew visited the port of Djibouti to conduct local maritime training with the Djiboutian Coast Guard and the Djiboutian Navy.
During the visit, the crew from Fasan trained their Djiboutian counterparts on Counter Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and Basic Life Support exercises; in total 59 personnel from both Djibouti Coast Guard and Navy attended the event.
The visit was a great example of how the European and Djiboutian naval forces are able to work and train cohesively in a variety of fields to strengthen maritime relations and security in the region.
