Operation Atalanta Flagship ITS Carabiniere Conducts Diving Exercise with Royal Navy of Oman
November 16, 2015 - 12:31On Monday 9 November 2015 Italian navy divers from ITS Carabiniere conducted a diving exercise with sailors from the Royal Navy of Oman.
The joint exercise was an opportunity for the divers to practice highly-specialized skills in the search, location and removal of simulated explosive charges underneath a ship’s hull.
The divers also conducted joint training in the use of equipment and procedures used in the safe defusal of explosive devices.
Operation Atalanta warships regularly train with regional states to develop skills and capabilities to improve maritime security within the region.
