Operation Atalanta Flagship ITS Carabiniere Donates Toys and Medicine to Local Children and Charities in Madagascar
December 30, 2015 - 10:57On Wednesday 23 December 2015, sailors from Operation Atalanta flagship, ITS Carabiniere, visited a local orphanage and charities during her visit to Antisiranana.
As well as carrying out maintenance and repairs to help improve the general conditions of the facilities, the Italian sailors also donated some toys, food, medicine and pencils to the children.
Several organizations benefitted from the donations, including the medical centre, Le Samaritaine, an organisation for the disabled, the Soeurs du Coeur Immaculee de Marie, the orphanage, Le Sacre Coeur, and the public school, Bon Pasteur.
During their visit, members of ITS Carabiniere’s crew also completed a charity run on board to raise money for the local communities.
