Operation Atalanta Spanish Warship Trains with Seychelles Air Force
November 17, 2015 - 14:58After twenty days at sea conducting counter-piracy patrols, Spanish Warship, ESPS Victoria, paid a visit to the Seychelles. The port of call allowed the ship’s company to replenish stores and fuel, and take some rest and recuperation before they returned to sea.
On completion of the port visit, the Spanish sailors took the opportunity to carry out an anti-air warfare exercise with the Seychelles Air Force. With the Seychelles Maritime Patrol aircraft simulating an airborne assault, ESPS Victoria’s crew practiced their procedures for countering such an attack.
Operation Atalanta warships regularly conduct exercises with regional states to help strengthen maritime security and enhance the level of interoperability between counter-piracy forces.
