Operation Atalanta’s Force Commander Visits Spanish Warship ESPS Victoria
December 16, 2015 - 15:03On Thursday 10 December 2015, Operation Atalanta’s Force Commander, Rear Admiral Stefano Barbieri, visited Spanish warship, ESPS Victoria.
Whilst berthed in Salalah in Oman, the commanding officer of ESPS Victoria, Commander Fernando José Suarez Fonseca, welcomed the Force Commander on board.
During the visit the Force Commander was given a tour of the ship and shown her capabilities, followed by discussions about the current counter-piracy situation off the coast of Somalia.
ESPS Victoria also used the port visit in Salalah to replenish vital fuel and stores before continuing with her patrols of the Somali coast to improve maritime security in the region.
