During the last few days EU Naval Force Warship ESPS Navarra deployed as part of EU Naval Force, has been conducting counter-piracy operations in the Indian Ocean. ESPS Navarra’s Commanding Officer decided to carry out a friendly approach, to gain ‘pattern of life’ information from the local vessel. The boarding and medical team from the ESPS Navarra approached the two craft and gave drinking water to the vessels and offered medical assistance to one of the crewmembers. HNLMS De Zeven Provinciën and FGS Rhoen during a replenishments at sea (RAS). One of 9 RAS accomplished, allowing the frigate to remain on patrol for a number of weeks. The embarked NH90 helicopter flew 180 hours during the deployment with Operation Atalanta, significantly enhancing the area covered by the HNLMS De Zeven Provinciën and helping to compile a detailed picture of the pattern of life at sea in  Somali and sur HNLMS De Zeven Provinciën also completed the escort of a World Food Program (WFP) vessel  along the coast of Somalia from Berbera to Bossaso. With the ongoing food insecurity in Somalia protecting WFP vessels remains a primarytask for Operation Atalanta. During the port visit a delegation of the Seychelles Coastguard was hosted for Local Maritime Capacity Building, supporting the EUCAP Nestor initiative to build up On Wednesday 20 August, a medal parade was held on board the HNLMS De Zeven Provinciën, last as a last step before the final conclusion of the Dutch frigate's deployment as part of Operation Atalanta.
