Pirates release Greek Bulk Carrier MV DELVINA
December 18, 2009 - 12:57On the afternoon of Thursday 17 December, the Greek owned( Marshall Island flagged ship) bulk carrier named the MV Delvina, was released by a pirate group holding her at Haradeera, on the south Somali Coast.
The Delvina, with a crew of 21 (7 Ukrainian and 14 Philipinos) and deadweight of 53, 629 tonnes, was hijacked by the pirate group on 5 November 2009.
EU NAVFOR warship Bremen is providing support and assistance and monitoring the situation until she arrives at her port of destination.
