Somali Minister visited Operation Headquarters
July 31, 2009 - 16:05On Thursday 30 July Mohamed Abdulahi Omaar Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs, visited the Operational Headquarters at Northwood.
The Foreign Minister was greeted by Rear Admiral Peter Hudson who welcomed him to the OHQ. The Minister was given a brief on the EU NAVFOR operation and he was impressed with the professionalism of the Naval Forces protecting international shipping against Somali pirates in the general region of the Gulf of Aden and beyond.
The Minister stated that “it is hoped that EU NAVFOR can continue with their mission until a credible Somali coastguard is established”
