Operation Atalanta sailors have been working alongside the Galmudug Security Forces to offer medical and security training on board EU Naval Force ship ESPS Rayo.

Earlier this month, ITS Fasan and her crew visited the port of Djibouti to conduct local maritime training with the Djiboutian Coast Guard and the Djiboutian Navy.

Dutch and Swedish sailors on board HNLMS Rotterdam have conducted medical training with local Galmudug Security Forces. The local interaction was in support of a mutual partnership to improve maritime skills.

EU NAVFOR’s Dutch warship HNLMS Rotterdam’s Cougar helicopter recently flew a routine maritime sortie to the Spanish warship ESPS Rayo.

On 4th October, the Italian Flagship ITS Fasan conducted joint manoeuvres, known as a PASSEX, with the Indian Navy ship INS Trishul off the coast of Galmadug, Somalia. This was to enhance cooperation and to broaden maritime expertise.

EU NAVFOR’s German Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPRA) has flown its 6000th hour for Operation Atalanta.

Recently, the crew of EU Naval Force’s Spanish Warship ESPS Rayo met with the Puntland Maritime Police Force (PMPF) to reinforce local cooperation and interaction.

EU Naval Force’s Serbian Autonomous Vessel Protection Detachment (AVPD), have conducted a live firing exercise on board a World Food Programme (WFP) ship, MV Esbjerg.

On 25th and 26th September EU NAVFOR’s Dutch Warship HNLMS Rotterdam conducted a local maritime capacity building (LMCB) exercise with Seychelles military personnel.

During September EU NAVFOR’s Serbian Marines have been embarked on the World Food Programme (WFP) MV Esbjerg, to protect it from pirate attack as it sails along the Somali coast.

On 14 September, EU NAVFOR flagship, ITS Fasan’s visited Antsiranana port in Madagascar. During the visit the EU NAVFOR Force Commander, Rear Admiral Fabio Gregori, met the President of the Republic of Madagascar, His Excellency Hery Martial Rajaonarimampianina Rakotoarimanana.

On 14 September, during her port visit to Antsiranana, the EU Naval Force warship, ITS Fasan, conducted Local Maritime Capacity Building (LMCB) training with personnel from the Malagasy Navy.
