On the 23rd of June, in Salalah, Oman, EU NAVFOR Force Commander, Commodore Alberto Correia and Flag Captain Commander Diogo Arroteia were hosted by Commodore Han Xiaohu, Commander Task Force 526, onboard the Chinese Frigate WENZHOU.
Commodore Alberto Correia and Commodore Han Xiaohu took the opportunity to exchange their experiences in counter-piracy operations and discussed the importance of information sharing and international cooperation to achieve the success of their missions.
During the visit, Commodore Alberto Correia and a delegation from the Portugese warship Vasco da Gama were briefed on People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLA Navy) escort missions in the Gulf of Aden and were given a tour of WENZHOU.
The Chinese Frigate WENZHOU is CTF 526’s flagship and part of the Chinese task force comprising two frigates and one tanker which is operating in the Gulf of Aden, commanded by Commodore Han Xiaohu.
