The Navarra belongs to the 41st Escort Squadron and receives its name as a tribute to the Comunidad Foral de Navarra.
The Navarra is the fifth frigate of the Santa María class and the first of the second series, of which it is part together with the Canarias. With an original design strongly oriented to anti-submarine warfare, these ships have evolved to adapt to changing scenarios and are capable of performing a wide range of missions both in conventional warfare and maritime security. The ship has a crew of more than two hundred dedicated professionals.
