On Wednesday 18 September 2015, the commanding Officer of ESPS Meteoro, Lieutenant Commander José Almira, visited the Naval Force Commander of the Tanzanian Navy, Major General Rogastian Laswai.
The visit took place in the Tanzanian Naval Headquarters in Dar Es Salaam. The commanders discussed the current maritime security situation in the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean and the successful co-operation between the Tanzanian Navy and Operation Atalanta warships.
On completion of her visit to Dar Es Salaam, ESPS Meteoro will continue her counter-piracy patrols off the coast of Somalia and protection of World Food Programme vessels delivering humanitarian aid to the Somalia people.
