On Friday 28 April, the EU NAVFOR Force Commander conducted a courtesy call with the Chief of Defence Forces Seychelles, Brigadier Leopold Payet.
Also in attendance was the Colonel of the Seychelles Coast Guard, Colonel of the Seychelles Air Force, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Seychelles People's Defence Force, and the EU NAVFOR Liaison Officer.
Visits such as this serve to strengthen the European Naval partnership with its Seychelles counterparts and help to maintain maritime security in the local region.
ESPS Galicia is currently on Operations in and around the Somali basin working together with Seychelles Naval Forces in order to deter pirates at sea.
