The flagship of the EU Naval Force, ITS Andrea Doria, is visiting Dubai in support of the UAE Counter-Piracy Week.

On Thursday 23 October HNLMS van Speijk hosted a group of sixteen students from the East African Standby Forces (EASF) of the African Union.

After completing counter-piracy patrols in the Indian Ocean, EU Naval force frigate, ESPS Navarra, entered the port of Dar Es Salaam to re-supply the ship.

On Saturday 18 October sailors from EU Naval Force Spanish frigate, ESPS Navarra, embarked in the Danish frigate HDMS Esbern Snare.  The Danish frigate is part of NATO’s counter-piracy operation, Ocean Shield.

After two and a half month since she joined the EU Naval Force, ESPS Navarra has paid a visit to Port Victoria in the Seychelles.

On Thursday 16th October 2014 the European Union Naval Force flagship, ITS Andrea Doria and Japanese Navy warship, JS Takanami, which is currently deployed with Combined Maritime Force CTF151, carried out a counter-piracy exercise at sea in the Gulf of Aden.

During her recent port visit to Djibouti to replenish food and spare parts, Dutch frigate HNLMS Van Speijk, took the opportunity to assist EUCAP Nestor in delivering practical training for Somali students who are currently completing a port control course.

On Tuesday 14 October a delegation of senior officers from the Indonesian Defence Forces visited the EU Naval Force Operational Headquarters (OHQ) in Northwood.

In the early hours of the morning on 6 October the German Bremen Class Frigate FGS Lübeck joined EU Naval Force Somalia Operation Atalanta. She relieved the German Joint Support Ship FGS Berlin following a few days of handover in the port of Djibouti.

On 5 October, EU Naval Force Warship, FGS Berlin conducted her twenty-first and final Replenishment at Sea (RAS) as part of EU Naval Force (EU NAVFOR) Somalia Operation Atalanta with the EU Naval Force Flagship ITS Andrea Doria.

On Wednesday 8 October members of the Somali Coast Guard and Port Police Force who are participating in a training course run by EUCAP Nestor in Djibouti, had the opportunity to visit two EU Naval Force warships, FGS Lübeck and FGS Berlin.

Since 21 September an EU Naval Force Autonomous Vessel Protection Detachment (AVPD) from Serbia has been embarked onboard the World Food Programme (WFP) chartered vessel MV Douro and will remain so for the next three months.
