Operation ATALANTA has successfully supported a Yemeni dhow with severe technical breakdown in the Eastern Gulf of Aden waters.

The second edition of the activity was co-organised by Operation ATALANTA and the Kenyan Navy.

The Iranian-flagged dhow used as a mother ship in the piracy incident involving the Merchant Tanker HELLAS APHRODITE has been liberated.

On the early afternoon of the 7 of November 2025, Operation ATALANTA forces liberated the Maltese-flagged Merchant Tanker HELLAS APHRODITE.

In light of the piracy event in the Indian Ocean, EUNAVFOR Operation ATALANTA asset is close to the incident and closing distance, ready to take the appropriate actions to respond effectively to this piracy alert.

The second edition of the regional capacity enhancement activity was co-organised by Operation ATALANTA and the Djibouti Regional Training Centre and supported by several international partners including Japan.
