The MV GOLDEN BLESSING, aSingapore-owned chemical tanker, deadweight 14,445 tonnes, was pirated on 28 June 2010 approximately 90 nautical miles (170 kilometres) off the Somali coast. The MV GOLDEN BLESSINGhas a crew of 19 Chinese.
EU NAVFOR Somalia – Operation ATALANTA’s main tasks are to escort merchant vessels carrying humanitarian aid of the World Food Program (WFP) and vessels of African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
