Strengthening ties with partner nations is key in the ongoing mission to support maritime security operations. On 22 July, personnel from ESPS Meteoro attended a reception in Oman to do exactly that.
Following the training exercise between ESPS Meteoro and the Omani Patrol boat Al Nassir; the reception was an opportunity to strengthen the relations between EU NAVFOR and the Sultanate of Oman in the fight against piracy and discuss current counter-piracy efforts in the region. The Defence Attaches to Oman also took the opportunity to discuss ESPS Meteoro’s counter-piracy capabilities and the greater cooperation in suppressing acts of piracy throughout the area of operations.
Opportunities like this that can reinforce relationships and understanding amongst partners that remain vital in continuing successful maritime missions.
