Sailors from Operation Atalanta’s flagship, FGS Bayern, trained with members of the Djiboutian Coastguard during a recent port visit to Djibouti.

Operation Atalanta’s new Autonomous Vessel Protection Detachment (AVPD) has arrived in Djibouti to take over the protection of World Food Programme (WFP) vessel, MSM Douro.

On 3 July 2016 Operation Atalanta’s Force Commander and his Chief of Staff paid a visit to the Spanish Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MPRA) Detachment in Djibouti.

Operation Atalanta’s current German Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MPRA) detachment has been deployed in Djibouti for the past three months.
