The CASA/IPTN CN-235 is a maritime patrol and tactical transport turboprop aircraft jointly developed by Construcciones Aeronáuticas in Spain and IPTN (Industri Pesawat Terbang Nusantara, currently Indonesian Aerospace) in Indonesia. The CN-235 is a high-wing twin-engine freighter that occupies the segment between light freighters like the CASA C-212 and medium freighters like the Transall C-160. In standard military transport, it is intended for short- and medium-range transport missions, both for soldiers and cargo. One of the objectives of the CN-235 is to be able to operate at low altitude effectively to reduce its vulnerability as much as possible. The C-295 is a development of the CN-235.
